What we do
‘Compete 5-a-side' football leagues offer men, women and children opportunities to participate in a competitive 5-a-side football environment regardless of ability at our sports complex within Eldon Leisure, Eldon Square.
We offer a unique service where members of the football leagues will be given the opportunity to view their games exclusively in the ‘Impulse' bar 20 minutes after they have played their games. Members will also have the opportunity to purchase DVD's of these games.
We are proud to offer the most prize money with successful teams earning up to £2,000, making us the market leader for prize incentives in all league and cup competitions. Throughout the year we will hand out over £40,000 worth of prize funds.
We offer 2 league seasons and 2 cup competitions to our members each year. Each season will start and end within the same week enabling us to provide an ‘Oscar Style' awards evening, with awards for various football achievements for each league (i.e. top goal scorer). These awards evenings will be jointly hosted by local football celebrities.
What we aim to achieve
Our main objective behind the ‘Compete 5-a-side' project is to give players the opportunity to play competitive football in a safe and friendly environment. We hope this will bring back the community spirit and ambiance of the Eldon Leisure football leagues of 20 years ago.
By providing these sporting opportunities we aim to address social and economic depravation, build our members personal skills (i.e. confidence, self-esteem) and address health issues, such as smoking, healthy eating and cardio-respiratory problems.
